WBNC provides home care services for people in need and their carers. This service is a practical and flexible service that assists people to maintain independence and quality of life while continuing to live at home, or to assist ill or injured people in their homes.
An assessment of needs usually occurs in the home before the service commences. Periodic assessment will occur and clients may request reassessment at any time.
Our home care workers are especially trained and carefully selected for their interest and capability in helping in the home situation.
Home care provides assistance with household duties such as sweeping, vacuuming, washing floors, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, washing, ironing, and mending clothes, shopping, preparing meals. The worker is usually allocated 1-2 hours per week to accomplish these chores.
The client and the WBNC staff will decide which jobs in the home have top priority. Jobs involving valuable items (such as dusting crystal etc) can be requested but NO responsibility can be taken for any breakages.
In some instances it will be jobs like showering or dressing that you may be having difficulty with, our personal care workers are trained to assist you with these tasks.
Your home care worker is paid by the Bush Nursing Centre, you do not pay the worker directly.
The service charge is estimated on the client’s income but the maximum charge will be $5.00 per hour and the minimum is $4.00 per hour
